God is still God
In the good times and the bad times, God is still God. When your up on the mountain, or down in the valley, when things go wrong, he'll make them right. Years ago I thought that a situation in my family was hopeless, but I have learned that if you wait on God, he can make everything bright again. The way seemed so dim, but he really did send the brightness our way several years later. I have a saved Dad due to that brightness that he shed down on us. I am so thankful that he is saved right now. How would he have handled the valley that we are in right now if he didn't have God in his heart? My heart is broken right now, as is the rest of our family, our church family and many, many friends, in many areas of the country. Let's all pray for each other that God will give us the comfort that he promises us. His word says, I will never leave thee or forsake thee. That is a GREAT comfort. In Psalms 29:11, it says, The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace. This is really helping me. Another verse, Psalms 27:1-The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Please, ecspecially pray for the family. No one knows until their gone how much their loved. She was soooooo loved. Did she not realize????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Spring
Spring has Sprung !!!!
Aren't the blooming flowers outside our window the ultimate palette that our God "the worlds most renowned artist" ever created ????? Wow !!!
I love flowers and all the rich colors that they hold in their petals. The reds, the gorgeous yellows, the delicate pinks, and the serene whites and every other color that is possibly known to man. God invented all these colors. He is my favorite artist.....

ready for my babies to come home
O-kay.... I'm sitting here after restless pacing, reading, eating, etc... waiting for my kiddies to come home. I'll explain, 2 of my children went on a 11 day trip out west to Montana to visit with my brother-in-law and sis-in-law with the my husbands parents. What were we thinking? That's just entirely too long! I miss them so bad and I am not going to bed till they get here! It's 3:51 in the early morning. Aren't we going to have a fun day? I did sleep yesterday afternoon for about 4 hours so I'm not glazed over yet. I'm just worried. They need to be here by now! They were suppose to be here by 3:30a.m., but you know how that goes. They flew into Nashville and got their(in-laws) car they left at the airport, so they figured they'd be home in our little city by 3:30. Yeah, they are 2 minutes away, gotta go! Thank you God!!!!

It is so hard to sit and do nothin'
Well, I had surgery last Friday, as planned, and it went really well. I was really nervous, but God helped me a lot, as I knew he would. Thanks to those of you that were praying. I had a hysterectomy due to problems I have had for years. It was a big decision, being that it would mean major surgery; me, being out of commission for a while and the finality of knowing that there would be no more kids, and "that", part of my life would be over. But, you know, I thought and prayed about it, and I feel really blessed to have 4 precious children that are healthy and normal, and my cup fills blessedly full and I am ready to feel better and have a better quality of life and move on to the next phase of my life. I'm still "somewhat" young and I am looking so forward to enjoying LIFE more. Enjoying my kids more, and whatever God brings to my life. So I'm not really sad. Some women are, and maybe it will come later, but as of right now, I and my husband feel good about our decision. Now I just need yall to pray for patience for me that I can make myself rest like I need to, to heal up properly. I wake up feeling halfway decent, so I'm like, "I can straighten up the house a little, move a few kitchen chairs around so I can sweep, slide the exercise bike across the living room to move it out of the way, bend over to pick up a few (hundred)ha-kidding, barbie shoes, clothes, etc. and then BHAM!!!! why did I do that? What was I thinking? I paid dearly for that little cleaning frenzy. See, you have to understand, my mother called and said that she was coming over in a few minutes (this was yesterday) to clean and straighten up for us some, well, any of you that know my mom, knows the reputation she has built for herself through the years, she is very, very clean (like, eat off the floors, clean), so I went into panic mode and decided that I needed to get up from my resting chair, and straighten up before she gets here, so she wouldn't think the house was as messy as it really was. Well, guess what, the house looked pretty good after my 15 minute fly-lady frenzy, but I dearly paid for it the rest of the day. I had severe cramping in my stomach and back for the rest of the day and a horrible headache. I finally decided that I will not be that stupid again and will not worry that my house doesn't stay as clean as my moms. I know, I could use the, "but she doesn't have 4 kids," cop-out, but that is exactly what it would be, "a cop-out." Because, when her 3 kids were all at home she kept a spotless house. O-Kay yall, my house is clean, but my mother I'm not. Sorry. How spotless I keep my house is not my number 1 goal in life. I'm not at all discounting my mother for her house keeping skills though. Don't get me wrong. Anyway, my mom did some of the basic things,(laundry, vacuuming) and then some of the not so basic things, like cleaning Brooklyn and Annie's room-including the closet(LOL) I told my husband after looking at the results that man, when my mama does something, she does it right!! The room and closet looked great!!!! Ron was kind of mystified because she did 1 room like thoroughly and only 1 load of laundry. I tried to explain to him, but being that he is a man, and just don't get it, my mom understood how a woman thinks, a woman, or most women, think, ugghhh! this room is a disaster and the closet is a wreck and I would love to tear in to it and clean it up and she knew it was bothering me to look at it, so she decided to take that load and temptation off my mind. May God bless her!!!!! I appreciated it sooo much. See, Ron had knee-surgery 4 weeks ago, so he can't do just anything either. He is doing good, but he can't bend but only so far and he is limited on things that he can do. He will be off work for a 6 week period.
We haven't hardly had to cook at all this week, which has been a huge help. The saints and family have brought food every day for use since last Sunday. What a blessing!!!!! We have been eating good, let me tell ya! Sis. Haney, bless her heart, brought a feast. She is such a blessing. Different people have kept the kids. So we have felt so loved and blessed this week by so many people. I can't express how thankful I am to each of them. Also the visits and people calling and people just praying has been wonderful. Thank you all!!!!!!

I'm still here!!!!!
Hello my friends! I've been neglecting my poor blog as of late. I'm sorry, but in my spare time I'd rather read. I just finished a big fat book. I didn't want to put it down. But I finally finished it. It was based around Navy Seals(I love books about military stuff) I find it very interesting. Anyhow, it snowed in our little place of the world the other day! The kids were sooo excited! It was so pretty coming down. We don't see snow very often, so it was nice. The kids got out and played and threw snow balls and collected snow in big containers to save in the freezer for next year I guess. I was like, I don't think so. My naughty son just had to bring a big ball of snow in and stuff in down the back of my shirt. Yheaw!!!!! Talk about a standing up a little straighter(while the very ice cold snow slides slowly down my back). I was not impressed! Jen, I've been taking your advice about weeding out the old stuff (to bring in the new, LOL). No, I really have been cleaning out and it really makes it alot easier to keep things clean. Thanks for the suggestion to get up and start to work!
Oh a new little helpful hint I just discovered the other day trying to get color markings and pen marks off my counters, I sprinkled some baking soda on the spots and scrubbed with a damp cloth and Wa la' they were gone. I was impressed. The abrasive powder did the trick but left no scratches that comet cleaner would have probably left. So maybe that will be helpful to somebody. One more hint I read in a cookbook that I thought was very interesting also, If you have a cook pot or skillet with baked on food left in the bottom, get a dryer sheet, place in the pot or pan fill with water and let soak over night. The next morning, pour out water and throw away wet dryer sheet and wash regular and the stuff will come right off. Neat huh?
